    ENUGU — Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Get together presidential candidate within the 2023 basic election, Mr. Peter Obi, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring that “subsequent yr will start a journey to rescue our nation.”

    Obi made the declaration on Wednesday in Enugu throughout a well-attended political gathering, the place he stated he had been a part of the ADC-led coalition from its inception.

    He was joined by a number of high-profile politicians, together with Senators Enyinnaya Abaribe, who introduced his resignation from APGA; Victor Umeh and Tony Nwoye, each previously of the Labour Get together.

    Obi criticised the nation’s financial course, noting that Nigeria’s GDP was declining regardless of rising public debt.

    “Our financial system isn’t rising, but we’re borrowing endlessly. This doesn’t mirror competent management,” he said.

    In response to him, Nigeria’s challenges should not insurmountable if leaders embrace unity, competence, dedication, compassion, and truthfulness.

    “Nigeria isn’t a poor nation. What we lack is competent and trustworthy management. We are able to now not settle for leaders who inform lies whereas corruption stares us within the face,” Obi stated.

    He added that insecurity within the nation had reached unprecedented ranges, calling on Nigerians to unite and make vital modifications.
