    Utaka appointed Montpellier Feminines head coach

    Former Tremendous Eagles ahead John Utaka has been named head coach of French D1 Arkema facet, Montpellier Féminines.

    Utaka takes over from Senegal’s Frédéric Mendy.

    Mendy was lately sacked following Montpellier’s poor run of outcomes.

    The 43-year-old can be assisted by Baptiste Marie and Jean-Louis Saez.

    Utaka spent two years as a participant at Montpellier, successful the Ligue 1 title with the membership within the 2011/2012 season.

    The previous RC Lens ahead was appointed because the membership’s youth staff coach in 2020.

    Utaka earned 48 caps for Nigeria, scoring six objectives.

    He was a part of the Tremendous Eagles squad that completed third on the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia.

    Utaka additionally represented Nigeria at two FIFA World Cups (2002 and 2010).
