Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has introduced that he’ll be a part of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, November 19.
Talking with journalists on Saturday, the governor confirmed his choice to go away the Peoples Democratic Get together (PDP) for the ruling get together.
Governor Kefas mentioned the defection “has to do with the future of Taraba folks” and indicated that he expects many guests to the official ceremony.
“There’s going to be a serious shift and alignment on November 19,” he mentioned. “I’ll formally transition from PDP to APC. It’s a motion that has to do with the future of Taraba folks.”
Kefas turns into the most recent governor to defect from the PDP to the APC in 2025. Different governors who’ve made related strikes this 12 months embrace Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Peter Mbah of Enugu, and Douye Diri of Bayelsa.
Elected in 2023, Kefas received the governorship with 257,926 votes, defeating Muhammad Yahaya of the New Nigeria Peoples Get together (NNPP) and Emmanuel Bwacha of the APC. Notably, since 1999, all governors in Taraba State have been members of the PDP.
