The manager council of the Port Harcourt Motor Elements Sellers Union, Ikokwu, Rivers State, has condemned a latest media report attributed to Pastor Festus Onyenwe, which alleged that Governor Siminalayi Fubara doesn’t care concerning the Igbo neighborhood within the state.
In an announcement issued on Wednesday and collectively signed by Mr. Vincent Ignatius Onwuzuruike, Line Chairman and Zonal Chief of the union, Mr. Ikenna Nwokomgbe, chairman of the Dickson/Ihioma union, and Mr. Charles Uzochukwu Opia, chairman of the 7B Line union, the group harassed that Onyenwe had no mandate to talk for the union or Ndi-Igbo in Rivers State.
The union mentioned, “He didn’t get the mandate of the union to make such a purported assertion and can’t communicate for Ndi-Igbo in Rivers State. He doesn’t have the consent and authority of the union to make such baseless statements towards the governor.”
The union additional reaffirmed its apolitical stance, emphasizing its deal with the protection, unity, and progress of the state and its residents. “Rivers State is residence to Ndi-Igbo anytime, any day, and we’re dedicated to its growth, peace, and unity,” the assertion added.
The merchants acknowledged the achievements of the state authorities and the intervention of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo, Rivers State chapter, in guaranteeing that Governor Fubara acknowledges the contributions of Igbo folks to the state’s economic system.
The union added, “We will not sit again and watch any particular person sabotage the extremely productive efforts recorded up to now. We’re conscious of the dedication of the governor to make sure that our wants are met, and we is not going to take it without any consideration.”
It reiterated its help for all initiatives aimed on the financial development of the state, highlighting that Igbo merchants in Rivers State, together with members of the Ikokwu Motor Spare Elements Sellers, stay vital stakeholders within the state’s growth.
The union urged the general public to ignore the purported assertion by Onyenwe, describing it as baseless and with out benefit.
