    South East leaders willing to negotiate Nnamdi Kanu’s release – Umahi

    The Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, has dismissed claims that the South East was giving circumstances, reminiscent of the discharge of Nnamdi Kanu, to help President Bola Tinubu

    Umahi, who praised Tinubu for his achievements thus far, stated the South East Geo-political Zone is totally in help of him and can work for his re-election.

    Umahi spoke to journalists on Friday night time in Lagos, the place he dismissed claims that the South East was giving circumstances, reminiscent of the discharge of Nnamdi Kanu, to help the President.

    “Any person requested me about Nnamdi Kanu, and I stated his matter will not be a situation for the South East to help the President.

    “We’re prepared to barter his launch, however nobody ought to make it a situation as a result of the President didn’t put him there,” he stated.

    The minister described Tinubu as a listening chief and expressed religion that Kanu’s launch would come by divine grace and dialogue, not by strain or politics.

    He stated: “President Tinubu is probably not excellent, however he’s doing most issues proper.

    “Have a look at the place he picked up the financial system from. The worldwide neighborhood has confidence in his reforms. That’s the reason we’re getting help for our initiatives.”

    Umahi highlighted key infrastructure initiatives being delivered by the present administration in South East, together with rthe ehabilitation of some roads deserted by previous administrations.

    “Let these criticising the president present us what they’ve achieved for the nation,” he stated.

    The minister dismissed the allegation that the South East was being sidelined in federal appointments, saying that Tinubu had achieved extra for the geo-political zone than many previous leaders.

    He referred to as for unity amongst political leaders, no matter occasion affiliation, noting that governors throughout the South East — together with these from opposition events — had been working nicely with the President.

    Umahi informed journalists stated that he had no intention of contesting for Nigeria’s presidency in 2027.

    “I cannot run. I’ll work for my boss, President Tinubu.

    “APC is the trail to reaching what we wish. The South East now has a voice on the centre. We won’t return to Egypt,” he stated
