    Shettima departs for Addis Ababa to represent Nigeria at UN summit

    ABUJA —The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, on Sunday, departed Abuja for Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital, to signify Nigeria on the second United Nations (UN) Meals Methods Summit being held from July 27 to 29, 2025.

    Senator Shettima will be part of different international leaders on the high-level occasion on advancing the transformation of the espresso worth chain in addition to have interaction in different roundtables and conferences geared toward bolstering Nigeria’s meals safety drive.

    The summit is predicted to deliver collectively international leaders to mirror on progress made because the inaugural 2021 UN Meals Methods Summit and speed up commitments in direction of constructing resilient, inclusive, and sustainable meals methods.

    The VP may also take part in different occasions on the sidelines of the summit designed to highlight real-world examples of meals methods transformation, promote information change and partnership, and encourage collective motion via evidence-based options and artistic expression.

    One of many occasions on the sidelines of the summit is a ministerial roundtable on public finance, commerce, and accountable funding to speed up the transition, subject journeys, and networking classes.

    At a current briefing by the Job Power on the 2nd UN Meals Methods Summit, VP Shettima had outlined three key targets for Nigeria’s delegation: positioning Nigeria as a frontrunner of thought on African meals methods reform, leveraging worldwide partnerships aligned with home priorities, and advancing a personal sector-led mannequin for continental meals transformation.

    The summit is organised in collaboration with the United Nations, the governments of Ethiopia and Italy.
