    Rwandan opposition leader arrested for alleged plot to ‘incite public unrest’

    Rwandan authorities have arrested opposition chief Victoire Ingabire for allegedly plotting to “incite public unrest”.

    The Rwanda Investigation Bureau stated Ingabire was being held at Remera police station, pending her handover to prosecution authorities. She was being held on suspicion of “crimes together with forming an armed insurgent group and planning actions meant to incite public unrest”, it stated.
