President Bola Tinubu on Thursday met with Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, Speaker of the Rivers State Home of Meeting Martins Amaewhule, and different members of the state meeting in a bid to finish the lingering political disaster within the state.

The closed-door assembly on the Presidential Villa marked the primary time Governor Fubara was seen with President Tinubu for the reason that president declared a state of emergency in Rivers on March 18.
Throughout that declaration, Tinubu suspended the governor, his deputy Mrs Ngozi Odu, and the state Home of Meeting, citing their incapacity to work collectively and rising safety considerations.

Thursday’s assembly appeared to sign a breakthrough in reconciliation efforts, as images launched after the talks confirmed the president, governor, and minister smiling collectively.
Sources on the presidency say the assembly helped to reconcile the factions concerned within the dispute that has paralysed governance within the oil-rich state.
