The disaster rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State deepened on Saturday after six of the seven disqualified governorship aspirants, led by a former Nationwide Secretary of the celebration, Senator Iyiola Omisore, rejected the choice of the screening panel, describing it as a politically-motivated hatchet job that threatens the celebration’s electoral possibilities.

Solely two of the 9 aspirants who appeared earlier than the screening committee have been cleared, whereas seven—together with Omisore—have been disqualified. Omooba Dotun Babayemi was not a part of the complainants.

Talking on behalf of the aggrieved aspirants, Omisore dismissed the report as “the jokest report of the yr,” alleging that the panel submitted a number of contradictory paperwork and that the model taken to the celebration secretariat was not the genuine report.

“We’re conscious that the panel members have two, three reviews. The one taken to the secretariat wasn’t the unique report. As we communicate at present, none of us has seen their report or why we have been disqualified,” Omisore stated, insisting that their political pedigree made the choice laughable.

“You may see for your self that once you disqualify individuals like us in any contest, the place can we go from there? The celebration is pointing at failure”, he added.

The previous APC Nationwide Secretary additional made a damning allegation in opposition to the chairman of the screening panel, claiming that the Minister of Marine and Blue Financial system and former Osun State governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, ordered that each one the aspirants be disqualified to pave the way in which for his most popular candidate, Wale Oyebamiji.

“He instructed us that Minister Gboyega Oyetola known as him that they have to disqualify all of us as a result of he needs his lackey, his poster boy, Oyebamiji,” Omisore stated.

When requested to make clear whether or not the panel chairman certainly made such a confession, he responded, “Sure, he instructed us that he was below stress.

    Sadly, we’re in it collectively.”

Omisore, who has up to now been the one one among the many disqualified aspirants to fulfill with the attraction panel, stated he demanded to know the particular allegations in opposition to them since none had been communicated.
In keeping with him, the declare that they didn’t safe the required 5 nominators per native authorities was baseless.

“The legislation says he who alleges should show. They need to have used one other methodology to disqualify us,” he stated.

Though the screening report contained a proviso empowering the Nationwide Working Committee NWC to overrule the panel, Omisore rejected any hypothesis that the NWC would possibly uphold the disqualification.

“You may’t shave my head for me. Why don’t you say the NWC will cancel the report of the panel? Why are you pessimistic?

“The NWC in their very own knowledge have the record of our celebration members, and we’ve over 13,000 members who’re financiers. All of us aspirants are responsible of the identical factor, the identical system, the identical means. That’s the difficulty, and it requires warning”, he stated.

Requested concerning the implication of the disaster for the celebration’s possibilities within the forthcoming governorship election, Omisore was blunt, pointing to even media reviews acknowledging the divisions inside the APC.

“You reported that the celebration is factionalized. Even the committee wrote there that the celebration is prone to lose the election. So what are you speaking about?” he stated.
