A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Jamiu Olawumi, says the management of the celebration thwarted efforts by Governor Ademola Adeleke to defect to the APC.
Olawumi made this identified on Thursday, when he featured on ‘The Morning Transient’, a programme on Channels Tv.
He accused the governor of lobbying to affix the APC from the Peoples Democratic Celebration, PDP, by way of which he gained the 2022 governorship election.
“The explanations for our rebuffing them are the outcomes of our findings, civil servants who had been being made second-class residents in opposition to their counterparts from Ede had been all pleading that we must always not permit Governor Adeleke to return to the APC.
“So, the communiqué of the PDP in Osun State, given 72 hours in the past, confirms our place that he was lobbying to be a part of the APC,” the chieftain stated.
In line with him, the governor couldn’t be the chief of the APC in Osun if he defected, stressing that the chief of the celebration is Bisi Akande.
The APC chieftain stated opposite to the claims by Governor Adeleke’s media aide, Hezekiah Bamiji, that two Osun lawmakers; senators Francis Fadahunsi and Olubiyi Fadeyi, who joined the APC not too long ago fell into a trap by defecting, the lawmakers deserted the PDP as a result of they didn’t need to be a part of a large number.
