    Osun: APC, Accord trade words over governorship election

    The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Accord Occasion have traded phrases over governance and political prospects forward of the 2026 governorship election within the state.

    In an announcement issued on Sunday Tajudeen Lawal, its state chairman, the APC accused Governor Ademola Adeleke and his allies of launching frivolous assaults on former governor and present Minister of Marine and Blue Financial system, Adegboyega Oyetola, and the social gathering’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

    Lawal, who stated the criticisms had been pushed by the ruling social gathering’s deprived place within the political calculation of the state, added that such assaults wouldn’t stop defeat on the polls in 2026.

    In an announcement signed by its state chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, the Accord described the APC’s feedback as intellectually bankrupt and stated they mirrored worry of shedding relevance in Osun politics.

    Akande argued that Osun had witnessed a turnaround below Governor Adeleke, citing what he described as enhancements in highway building, public infrastructure and staff’ welfare.

    “Governor Adeleke has prioritised staff’ welfare and restored consistency in wage funds,” he stated.

    Accord additionally defended the administration’s report in well being and safety, claiming that amenities had been upgraded and collaboration with safety companies strengthened, resulting in improved stability throughout the state.

    The social gathering rejected APC’s criticism of the federal government’s monetary administration, insisting that the present administration was addressing challenges inherited from earlier governments.

    Akande additional accused the APC of “presiding over hardship throughout its time in workplace, significantly pointing to the period of half-salary funds to staff, which he stated Osun residents had not forgotten.”

    Sustaining that the citizens wouldn’t return the APC to energy in 2026, he added, “Osun won’t relapse. The folks won’t return to their abusers.”
