    Obi’s 2023 rhetoric won’t work in 2027 – Sen Olujimi

    Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and ex-Senate Minority Chief, Senator Biodun Olujimi, has dismissed the possibilities of Labour Celebration’s Peter Obi posing any severe problem to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

    Talking throughout an interview on Channels Tv’s Politics Right now on Thursday, Senator Olujimi mentioned the enchantment and eloquence that helped Obi within the 2023 presidential election is not going to be sufficient within the subsequent cycle.

    “The rhetoric of the final election is not going to work once more, besides he comes with one other gimmick. And also you see, this (Tinubu) is a politician, a person who is aware of the terrain effectively,” she acknowledged.

    Olujimi, who just lately defected from the Peoples Democratic Celebration (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), additionally hailed Tinubu’s deep-rooted political expertise, describing him as a formidable determine.

    “That is the primary time we’re having a dyed-in-the-wool politician as president. He is aware of his onions; he is aware of all of us. He has been within the system for very lengthy. It’s robust,” she mentioned.

    “This can be a man who has labored with everybody, who has been helpful to everybody, who has had alternatives to help governments. Beating him? Uphill activity.”

    Explaining her defection to the ruling APC, the senator mentioned she was swayed by the decisiveness and pragmatism of President Tinubu’s administration.

    “The APC we talked about prior to now, the federal government that was in energy then, is just not the present one in energy. There’s a completely different APC now,” she mentioned.

    “This authorities is pragmatic. It’s resolute, it’s taking robust selections and working with the choices. It’s not like different governments,  taking robust selections and when folks begin to complain, dropping it and making them snug once more, going again to the previous methods.”

    Olujimi admitted that whereas it might appear unfair for her to depart the PDP—a celebration that gave her political prominence—she felt it had misplaced momentum and public belief.

    “My folks on the grassroots are completely happy I left the PDP,” she mentioned.
