    NYCN urges youths to shun planned protest, cites court order, U.S. Embassy security alert

    The Nationwide Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has referred to as on Nigerian youths to chorus from collaborating within the deliberate nationwide protest following a restraining order reportedly obtained by the federal authorities by means of the Nigeria Police Pressure.

    In an announcement signed by Buhari Shehu, chairman of the NYCN Interim Administration Committee, the council confirmed {that a} Federal Excessive Courtroom in Abuja had issued an order barring organisers and members from going forward with the protest.

    Shehu famous that the event adopted safety issues and warnings from the US Embassy in Abuja, which had suggested Americans in Nigeria to keep away from protest places as a result of potential dangers.

    “We cite this as a precautionary measure to emphasize the potential dangers related to the deliberate protest,” the assertion learn.

    The NYCN expressed concern that the demonstrations might spiral into violence and trigger a breakdown of legislation and order, endangering lives and property throughout the nation.

    “We urge all Nigerian youths to train restraint and keep out of hassle. The deliberate protest could result in a breakdown of legislation and order, which might put lives and property in danger,” Shehu warned.

    Whereas acknowledging the correct of residents to specific their grievances, the council appealed to younger individuals to undertake peaceable and lawful channels for civic engagement.

    “We implore all Nigerian youths to prioritise peace, stability, and nationwide safety. We urge you to discover different and lawful technique of expressing your grievances and calls for,” it added.

    Reaffirming its dedication to youth improvement and nationwide unity, the NYCN pledged continued collaboration with authorities companies and stakeholders to handle urgent challenges affecting younger Nigerians.
