The Nigerian Official Choice Committee, NOSC, has confirmed that no Nigerian movie shall be submitted for the Worldwide Characteristic Movie class on the 2026 Academy Awards.
NOSC chairperson, Stephanie Linus, in a press release on Monday revealed that the committee opened a name for entries in August.
A complete of six movies have been obtained for consideration.
Nevertheless, in line with Linus, throughout a gathering over the weekend, the NOSC voted by majority to make “No Submission,” successfully ending the choice course of.

The committee’s determination has been formally communicated to the Academy of Movement Image Arts and Sciences.
