Nigerian Air Power (NAF) plane working below the joint job drive of Operation Hadin Kai have efficiently hit terrorist targets at Abbajiri within the Timbuktu Triangle of Lake Chad, clearing the best way for a floor offensive by troops.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Data, stated the strikes adopted a coordinated air interdiction operation on January 8, 2026.
“Appearing on actionable, multi-source intelligence that confirmed lively terrorist presence, constructions, and hid logistics services within the space, NAF air property had been employed in built-in surveillance and precision strike roles to interact recognized targets.
“The operation was intentionally designed to degrade terrorist functionality, deny sanctuary, and form the battlespace for floor forces, in strict adherence to established guidelines of engagement and the safety of non-combatants.
“Commenting on the operation, the Chief of the Air Employees (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, said that the success of the mission displays the Nigerian Air Power’s resolve to dominate the air area in help of joint operations.
“This operation demonstrates our unwavering dedication to delivering exact and decisive airpower in help of floor forces. We’ll proceed to disclaim terrorists freedom of motion, sanctuary, and logistics wherever they search to cover,” the CAS stated.
