    ‘Na dem sabi’ — Charlyboy reacts as Lagos govt renames bus stop after Olamide Baddo

    Veteran entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly referred to as Charly Boy, has reacted to the Lagos authorities’s resolution to rename the favored Charly Boy Bus Cease in Bariga to Olamide Baddo Bus Cease, in honour of the rapper and Bariga native, Olamide Adedeji.

    Reacting to the information in a chat with DAILY POST on Saturday, Charly Boy merely stated: “Na dem sabi”.

    Recall that the Lagos authorities not too long ago modified some roads names within the state.

    The announcement was made public in the course of the commissioning of native initiatives in Bariga Native Council Improvement Space (LCDA) on Friday.

    The outgoing LCDA Chairman, Hon. Kolade David Alabi, revealed the modifications as a part of his closing acts in workplace.

    Apart from the change of Charly Boy Bus Cease to Baddo Bus Cease, different areas in Bariga had been additionally renamed after notable Nigerians, particularly from the leisure and sports activities trade.

    Listed below are a few of the main modifications:

    Ilaje Street is now King Sunny Ade Street, honouring the Juju music legend.

    Bariga Street has been renamed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Method, in recognition of the Nigerian President and former Lagos Governor.

    Neighborhood Street, Akoka is now Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Street, for the present Lagos Governor.

    Ajidagan Avenue turns into Olamide Adedeji (Baddo) Avenue.

    Ifeanyi Avenue is now Abolore Akande (9ice) Avenue, named after singer 9ice.

    Ayodele Avenue, Ladi-Lak has been renamed Tony Tetuila Avenue, in honour of the Afro-pop veteran.

    Ilojo Crescent, Obanikoro is now Bukayo Saka Avenue, after the Arsenal and England soccer star of Nigerian descent.

    The renaming has additionally stirred reactions from social media customers.

    Ola, a person on X revealed that; “If the particular person behind this resolution had been actually born and raised in Bariga, they’d know that the bus cease is definitely referred to as Second Pedro Bus Cease—not Charly Boy Bus Cease. It is a clear instance of how political bitterness can distort historic and communal info.”

    AKIN OMO AKIN additionally stated, “No person named it Charlyboy bus cease within the first place, Charlyboy named it after himself with none authorization from the native authorities.”

    OG Beeperl reacted by saying, “Baddo is kuku better than Charly wayray and his complete technology anyway.”
