    JAMB Sets 150 as Minimum Cut-off Mark for 2025 University Admissions

    The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced that the minimal cut-off mark for admission into Nigerian universities for the 2025 educational session is 150.

    The choice was disclosed on the 2025 JAMB Coverage Assembly held in Abuja, chaired by the Minister of Schooling, Dr. Olatunji Alausa. The assembly introduced collectively schooling stakeholders to find out nationwide admission requirements for tertiary establishments.

    Breakdown of Accredited Minimize-Off Marks:

    Dr. Alausa pressured that no establishment is allowed to confess candidates beneath the accepted thresholds, warning of strict sanctions towards violators. He emphasised the significance of transparency, adherence to admission tips, and well timed admission processing to keep up the credibility of Nigeria’s increased schooling system.

    • Public Universities: Should conclude admissions by October 2025

    • Non-public Universities: Deadline prolonged to November 2025

    • Polytechnics & Schools of Schooling: Ultimate deadline is December 2025

    JAMB Registrar Sounds Observe of Warning

    Professor Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB Registrar, additionally gave stern warnings in the course of the assembly. He famous that any establishment that fails to submit its 2024 matriculation checklist is not going to be allowed to start 2025 admissions.

    He additional emphasised compliance with JAMB’s Built-in Brochure and Syllabus System (IBASS), stating:

    “Establishments that fail to add their senate-approved brochures to the IBASS portal by October 31, 2025, will lose the proper to implement modified admission standards for the 2026 session.”

    This transfer is seen as a part of broader reforms aimed toward standardizing admission processes and enhancing information integrity throughout Nigeria’s tertiary schooling sector.
