    Il nous a fait rêver sur sa moto pendant le Tour de France : Jean-René Godart est mort

    Le journaliste sportif Jean-René Godart, qui a longtemps couvert le cyclisme et notamment le Tour de France juché sur une moto pour France Télévisions, est mort mercredi à l’âge de 74 ans, a indiqué son ancien employeur. A la radio sur Europe 1 puis à la télé, il « avait notamment couvert 33 Excursions de France entre 1982 et 2015, 13 éditions des Jeux olympiques (été et hiver), ainsi que 21 Roland-Garros », a rappelé la rédaction des sports activities de France Télévisions dans un article publié sur le web site d’info du groupe public, franceinfo.fr.

    Entré à France Télévisions en 1994, Jean-René Godart avait pris sa retraite en 2018, « pour des raisons de santé », ont rappelé ses anciens collègues, qui ont appris son décès auprès de sa famille. Il avait terminé sa carrière comme rédacteur en chef au service des sports activities de France Télévisions.

    Son parcours professionnel avait débuté à la radio Europe 1 en 1974, pour laquelle il avait couvert son premier Tour de France en 1982. Jean-René Godart avait par ailleurs écrit plusieurs livres, dont La bande à Hinault (1979), préfacé par le champion cycliste Jacques Anquetil.
