…Fault Kenneth Okonkwo for less than Northerner can defeat Tinubu claims

    By Steve Oko

UMUAHIA – Igbo ladies have  slammed the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, for claiming that President Tinubu has been very reasonable to the South East.

That is as they sharply disagreed with Nollywood famous person, Kenneth Okonkwo, over his latest assertion that it’s  solely  a Northern candidate that may uproot President Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, arguing that such a view is “narrowly-minded and suspicious”.

Umahi had, in an announcement on Monday stated that the Presidency was not realisable for the South East in 2027, advising Ndigbo to relatively assist President Tinubu within the 2027 elections.

However Igbo ladies underneath the aegis of Igbo Ladies Meeting (IWA), expressed disappointment over the positions by Umahi and Okonkwo, dismissing each views as “empty defeatist rhetoric”. IWA notably blasted Umahi, who the group stated was starting to manifest “indicators of slave mentality and invasive sycophantic illness.”

The Nationwide President of IWA, Lolo Nneka Chimezie, in a strong-worded assertion, challenged the Minister “to publish what President Tinubu has achieved specifically for the South East to substantiate the imaginary particular love he has for Ndigbo”.

In accordance with IWA, the distinction between President Tinubu and his predecessors is but to be seen relating to Igbo marginalisation, particularly in political appointments.

“Could we remind Umahi that Tinubu has not proven that he’s totally different from Buhari in sidelining Ndigbo from political appointments. Is Umahi not conscious that two out of 5 Ministers from the South East in Tinubu’s cupboard are junior Ministers, at a time one state within the South West has three Ministers?

“Can Umahi publish the names of individuals from South East appointed heads of federal businesses and parastatals by Tinubu for us to know  he has been truthful to us greater than different zones? If he loves Ndigbo as a lot as Umahi claims, why is our son Mazi Nnamdi Kanu nonetheless in detention for over two years since he got here to energy?

“If President Tinubu really loves Ndigbo the way in which Umahi claims, why is the Enugu-Aba rail observe nonetheless inactive? We hope Umahi is conscious that each geopolitical zone now has a regional improvement fee.”

IWA additional stated that “though  the marginalisation and political exclusion of Ndigbo didn’t start with President Tinubu, he hasn’t achieved something both to counsel he desires to cease or change the narrative.”

The group suggested Umahi and “different Igbo sycophantic and self-centred politicians” to study quick from their counterparts from different zones, who know methods to place regional pursuits above private positive aspects.”

Igbo ladies regretted that as a substitute of utilizing their privileged positions to advance the Igbo trigger, the Igbo political elite derive pleasure in “over-blowing the trumpets of their pay masters. to curry extra favour even on the expense of your complete Igbo race.”

IWA suggested Umahi to have a look at the present circumstances of different Igbo political traitors like him who sang comparable tunes prior to now.

“Our recommendation for Umahi is to look again at politically-correct Igbo elite like him who have been used and dumped by the identical individuals he’s right now shouting their praises”.

IWA suggested the Igbo political elite “to cease their direct and oblique assaults on Peter Obi, who many Nigerians consider has the competence, readiness, and capability to take the nation out of the woods.

“We don’t know why Igbo political elite can’t be part of the remainder of Nigerians in supporting considered one of their very own, who the remainder of the nation, right now, appears to be rooting for. The struggling plenty of Nigeria, no matter their tribe and faith, consider in taking again their nation, and they’ll disappoint Umahi and his likes.”

On Okonkwo’s assertion that it’s only a Northerner who might defeat Tinubu in 2027, IWA cautioned the actor-turned-politician to not puncture and stunt his fast-growing profile and followership with “unguarded and suspicious political rhetoric.”

IWA stated its respect for Okonkwo, who, in accordance with the group, “is one other Igbo man after Nnamdi Kanu by way of ardour for the Igbo trigger”, was jolted by the view canvassed by the previous Spokesperson of Labour Social gathering.

The assertion learn: “Igbo ladies have respect for Kenneth Okonkwo as a result of he seems to be one of many best clever Igbo gents we’ve got. He has been very diligent in figuring out with the Igbo trigger and defending Igbo pursuits. In reality, after Nnamdi Kanu, he’s the subsequent Igbo man who may be very passionate in regards to the Igbo trigger.

“His ardour for the Igbo trigger has earned him respect amongst Ndigbo, particularly Igbo ladies and youths, however he ought to watch his again so he doesn’t lose the goodwill. He mustn’t permit political sentiments to set him towards the individuals.

“IWA considers his remarks that it’s solely a Northern presidential candidate who can win President Tinubu in 2027 as suspicious. It has left a lot of his admirers confused. For us, that assertion has no bearing.

“Has he now joined the cabal that’s pinning this nation down? Is he now saying that ‘the Take Again Our Nation’ that every one Nigerians are clamouring for will not be attainable?   We don’t need Kenneth Okonkwo, who was one of many sturdy voices towards the system, to hen out so simply.

“How come Kenneth Okonkwo’s myopic lens couldn’t see that the hope of Nigerians is now on the South East to guide them out of this wilderness? At no time are Nigerians prepared and prepared to assist a President of Igbo extraction than now. Kenneth Okonkwo ought to forged off his garment of pessimism and stay agency within the motion he as soon as recognized with!

“Kenneth Okonkwo ought to know that Nigerians have come to understand that Peter Obi’s candidacy will not be about Igbo presidency however about fixing Nigeria and making it work for all. The clamour is past tribe and political social gathering; it’s a clamour for competence, justice, and accountability.”

IWA urged Igbo political elite “to cease destroying themselves”, arguing that “If Peter Obi was capable of ballot over 6 million votes in 2023 with out construction, how far more now with the constructing momentum of the coalition motion”.

IWA, in the meantime, suggested the coalition African Democratic Congress, ADC, to not make the error of not contemplating a Southerner for its presidential ticket, arguing that the coalition will naturally lose the assist of the South if it fields a Northern presidential candidate in 2027.

“The reality stays that no Northern presidential candidate can have the sympathy of Southern voters in 2027 as a result of the presidency has to nonetheless reside within the South for eight years earlier than it goes again to the North.

“If ADC fails to provide its presidential ticket to a Southern candidate with nationwide attraction like Peter Obi, the coalition will fail. The South has not accomplished its flip, and it might be an injustice for the North to think about hijacking energy once more in 2027. The entire South will forged off social gathering and tribal sentiments and unite towards such a transfer!
