Former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja, has disclosed why former Governor Yahaya Bello refused to select him as his successor.
Onoja revealed that Bello reneged on his promise to permit him succeed him as a result of he was “too certified.”
In an interview on Mic On podcast on Saturday, the previous deputy governor mentioned Bello gave three explanation why he picked Governor Usman Ododo forward of him.
Onoja mentioned: “He known as me bodily and we spoke, he mentioned let’s ship someone else and he gave some causes.
“Surprisingly, he mentioned my capability was an excessive amount of. Secondly, he did say that my folks of Kogi East do probably not like me as a result of I supported a non-Igala himself.
“Lastly, he did say that there might be different roles that he would have on the centre and he would love me to serve with him.”
Onoja, who beforehand served as Bello’s Chief of Employees earlier than he was elevated to Deputy Governor, mentioned he has no regrets serving the previous governor.
He added: “No regrets for serving with Yahaya Bello however there might be some points, however no regrets in any respect as a result of he has given me alternatives to serve, be taught, develop, community and he has given me a nationwide face.
