    Guinea-Bissau incident not coup, but more painful than losing to Buhari – Jonathan

    Former President Goodluck Jonathan has stated the army takeover in Guinea-Bissau was not a coup, insisting that the election outcomes be introduced.

    Additionally, Jonathan described the incident as extra painful for him than when he needed to call late Muhammadu Buhari, when he lost the presidential election.

    Chatting with in an interview with Symfoni on Friday, Goodluck Jonathan described the Guinea-Bissau army intervention as as “a ceremonial coup”.

    The previous president stated: “Particularly, what occurred in Guinea-Bissau was not a coup. Perhaps, for need of a greater phrase, I’d say it was a ceremonial coup.

    “It’s the president, President Umaro Embaló, that introduced the coup.
