    Gov. Ododo Flags Off AGILE Cash Transfer Programme for Kogi Students

    The Govt Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, has flagged off the Adolescent Ladies Initiative for Studying and Empowerment (AGILE) Challenge Conditional Money Switch programme for college students in chosen colleges in Kogi State.

    The programme was flagged off at this time, Monday, July 28, 2025, on the Glass Home Corridor, Authorities Home, Lokoja.

    Governor Ododo restated his dedication to uplifting the lives and livelihoods of residents, particularly girls and ladies within the state. He described the AGILE mission as a logo of dedication to making sure that each little one, particularly the girl-child, has entry to protected and high quality training. “An informed lady shouldn’t be solely an empowered particular person however a catalyst for nationwide improvement,” he mentioned.

    The Governor famous that the AGILE-CCT is greater than monetary help, because it represents a long-term funding in human capital improvement. “The programme is designed to reinforce faculty enrollment, retention, and transition for adolescent ladies, thereby contributing to the broader social and financial improvement of Kogi State,” he added.

    Governor Ododo knowledgeable that the mission will present a money grant of ₦40,000 every to 13,359 adolescent ladies in transition courses throughout the state, with the goal of eradicating monetary limitations to training and enhancing faculty retention. He urged the beneficiaries to make accountable use of the grants as a basis for a greater future, noting that empowering the girl-child is synonymous with empowering households, strengthening communities, and advancing the nation.

    The Commissioner for Schooling and Chairman of the State Challenge Steering Committee, Wemi Jones, recommended Governor Ododo’s management, which has continued to draw helpful tasks to the state. Jones inspired schoolgirls to attend colleges usually and suggested mother and father to stay actively concerned of their kids’s training to make sure they full their academic pursuits.

    The AGILE State Challenge Coordinator, Ahmed Tijani Oricha, emphasised that the mission goals to dismantle each monetary and sociocultural limitations that stop adolescent ladies from staying in class. He famous that the second cohort of the CCT is in progress and each lady little one who has 75% attendance in class is eligible to be chosen.

    The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, pledged the help of conventional establishments in direction of the girl-child improvement agenda of the Kogi State authorities. He described ladies as the way forward for the nation and referred to as for sustained efforts in guaranteeing their development and empowerment.
