Properties value thousands and thousands of Naira have been destroyed as no fewer than six retailers have been razed by hearth in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) experiences that the fireplace, which occurred on Thursday at Ile-Ewe, Sawmill Space, Ogbomoso, affected six out of 10 locked-up retailers within the space.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Fireplace Companies Company, Mr Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident in a press release in Ibadan on Friday.
In line with Akinwande, the personnel of the company obtained a misery name in regards to the hearth incident from one Mr David Ajagbe at precisely 14.08 hrs on Thursday.
Akinwande stated that the company’s personnel, led by CFS Dairo, promptly left for the scene and arrived on time.
“On attending to the scene, we met six out of 10 locked-up retailers properly alight and rapidly engaged our equipment, and we have been capable of curtail the fireplace from spreading to different retailers and close by properties.
“Properties value thousands and thousands of Naira have been affected by the fireplace, and the fireplace service was capable of save thousands and thousands of properties,” the chairman stated.
He added that no casualty was recorded whereas the investigation was ongoing to establish the reason for the fireplace incident. (NAN)
