Former Tremendous Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh, has accused the Nigeria Soccer Federation, NFF, of pocketing $1 million from FIFA.
Oliseh, talking on the Dwelling Turf podcast, claimed the cash was reward for Nigeria qualifying for the 2002 World Cup.
In accordance with him, there was an settlement to separate the cash equally and share one half among the many gamers.
However the NFF opted to disband the staff and stored the cash.
Oliseh mentioned: “We have been going to the (2002) World Cup and we had an settlement. $1 million was going to return from FIFA’s cash and we agreed to separate it 50-50. You’re taking $500k and we take $500k.
“$500k was going to be shared among the many 30 gamers who took half within the qualifiers. That quantity to round $18,000 every.
“However the one manner the gamers would have been paid, is that if Oliseh was there to make sure his colleagues received their share.
“To get that cash, NFF eradicated Oliseh and his assistant captain, Finidi George.
“We certified to the finals and so they disbanded the staff. They made certain we didn’t get our share.
“The staff that went to that World Cup, 80% of that staff didn’t play within the qualifiers. Which means they didn’t get the share of that cash.”
