    FG, police behind Osun LG crisis — Accord alleges

    The Accord Celebration on Friday accused the Federal Authorities and the Nigeria Police Drive of being behind the continuing disaster in Osun State native governments, demanding the rapid withdrawal of court-sacked All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmen and councillors from council secretariats throughout the state.

    In a press release issued by the get together’s Nationwide Chairman, Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem, the get together stated the continued occupation of native authorities secretariats by the APC officers, regardless of subsisting court docket judgments nullifying their election and the expiration of their tenure, poses a severe risk to democratic governance and the rule of legislation.

    “These anti-democratic forces have chosen to make a mockery of our consultant governance,” it added.

    “Accordingly, Accord calls for the rapid launch of the N130bn statutory allocations to Osun State Native Governments illegally withheld by the Federal Authorities,” the assertion stated.

    Calling for pressing presidential intervention, the get together appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to behave swiftly to revive order on the grassroots stage.

    “Accord calls on President Bola Tinubu to shortly intervene and save governance on the grassroots stage in Osun State,” it stated.

    The get together counseled Governor Ademola Adeleke for what it described as maturity and respect for the rule of legislation amid the standoff, expressing confidence in his management and pledging continued help for his administration.
