    FG introduces mandatory ethics, criminal screening for teachers

    The Federal Authorities has unveiled a Instructor Ethics and Felony Report Verification Framework, making it obligatory for all lecturers in private and non-private faculties to endure ethics screening and legal background checks earlier than employment.

    Minister of Schooling Dr Tunji Alausa introduced the initiative on Monday in Abuja on the official launch of the Lecturers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) digital portal and its new strategic imaginative and prescient for the educating occupation.

    He stated the measure is a part of broader reforms aimed toward restoring dignity, accountability, and professionalism to Nigeria’s training system.

    “No instructor, whether or not in public or non-public establishments, will henceforth be employed with out present process ethics screening and legal background checks.
