In a bid to deal with persistent overcrowding in correctional amenities, the federal authorities has launched 4,550 inmates, thereby lowering the nationwide custodial inhabitants from over 86,000 to roughly 81,450.

Minister of Inside, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, introduced the event throughout a gathering in Abuja with the Chairman of the Home of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Establishments, Hon. Chinedu Ogah.
