Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has reacted to supervisor Ruben Amorim’s feedback on Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes.
Amorim had not too long ago urged after Man United’s Premier League 1-1 draw with Fulham at that weekend that Mainoo has to battle with Fernandes for a beginning spot in his squad.
Mainoo is but to play for the Purple Devils within the Premier League this season after he was made to sit down on the bench by means of out the period of their matches towards Arsenal and Fulham.
The 20-year-old is behind the likes of Fernandes, Casemiro, Mason Mount and Manuel Ugarte in Amorim’s pecking order of midfielders.
Talking on Amorim’s feedback and Mainoo’s scenario on Rio Ferdinand Presents, the retired England footballer insisted that Mainoo is combating a dropping battle competing with the membership’s captain for a beginning spot.
“If Mainoo has to dislodge the captain [to get into Man United’s starting XI like Amorim stated], he’s combating a dropping battle, shouldn’t be he? Bruno Fernandes has been the talisman for this group for the final three or 4 years,” Ferdinand stated.
“How is Mainoo going to displace somebody like him? It’s going to be practically not possible. Bruno is the man they appear to after they want a purpose, after they want a second, when they need an opportunity.”
