ABUJA — The Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC) has invited former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian Nationwide Petroleum Firm Restricted (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, to its Abuja headquarters for questioning, a supply on the company confirmed on Wednesday.
A supply on the EFCC stated Kyari was on the fee’s workplaces and was talking with investigators. “He’s right here with our investigators in the mean time. That is all I can disclose for now,” the supply stated.
Efforts to acquire an official remark from the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, have been unsuccessful on the time of submitting this report.
Kyari served as GMD of the NNPCL from 2019 till his substitute in July 2024. Throughout his tenure he oversaw a number of reforms on the state oil firm, together with its transition towards a restricted legal responsibility firm construction.
