Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has says the digital transmission of election outcomes doesn’t absolutely assure free, truthful and credible elections.
Sani stated this on Wednesday throughout an interview on ‘Dawn Every day’, a programme on Channels Tv.

He was reacting to the current passage of the Electoral Act.

DAILY POST stories that the Senate on Tuesday accredited digital transmission of election outcomes, with handbook collation retained as a backup.

Airing his opinion on the Amended Electoral Act, the previous lawmaker stated, “Digital switch doesn’t imply that we’re going to have 100% free and truthful election. There isn’t any electoral system that those that intend to rig wouldn’t have the ability to circumvent. Now you might have a handbook voting and digital switch of outcomes.

“So all over the place you go, if the nation is all in favour of organizing free, truthful and credible elections, it can maintain and if there may be the intent and observe of manipulation, no matter you do they’ll discover a strategy to rig it.

“For instance, now, you’ll be able to have legal guidelines all over the place that voters shouldn’t be induced with cash or something materials for them to vote, they’ll nonetheless do this and we don’t have the manpower to go to each nook and cranny to verify individuals are not being induced.”
