    Court adjourns trial of Mercy Chinwo’s ex-manager, Eezee Tee over money laundering

    Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal Excessive Courtroom in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, adjourned additional proceedings within the case involving music promoter and former supervisor of gospel artist Mercy Chinwo, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu ThankGod, popularly often known as Eezee Tee, to September 26, 2025.

    ThankGod and his firm, Eezee International Ideas Restricted, are dealing with trial on a seven-count amended cost filed by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee, EFCC.

    The costs contain allegations of overseas trade malpractice and cash laundering involving a number of hundred thousand {dollars}.

    Initially arraigned earlier than Justice Owoeye on the identical courtroom, the case was later reassigned to Justice Aneke for continuation of proceedings.

    One of many expenses alleges that the defendant, not being an authorised overseas trade seller authorised by the Central Financial institution of Nigeria, negotiated a overseas foreign money transaction with a person, thereby violating provisions of the Overseas Change Monitoring and Miscellaneous (Provisions) Act.

    At Friday’s listening to, the prosecution, led by Bilkisu Buhari-Bala, offered its first witness, Mohammed Timta.
