    Coup: 16 indicted officers to face court-martial — DHQ

    ABUJA — The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, stated yesterday that the Particular Investigative Panel it set as much as probe 16 officers of the Armed Forces alleged to have been indicted in acts of indiscipline and coup plotting will face a army courtroom martial.

    The Defence spokesman emphasised that the measures being taken had been “purely disciplinary and a part of inner institutional mechanisms to protect self-discipline, cohesion and operational effectiveness inside the ranks.”

    He stated the arraignment will proceed below the Armed Forces Act and different related service rules, to make sure equity and due course of.

Bappah (Bauchi, 56th Course); Lt Col A. Hayatu (Kaduna, 56th Course); Lt Col Dangnan (Plateau, 56th Course); and Lt Col M. Almakura (Nasarawa, 56th Course).

    Others embrace Main A. Ibrahim (Gombe, 56th Course); Main M. Jiddah (Katsina, 56th Course); Main M.A. Usman (FCT, sixtieth Course); Main D. Yusuf (Gombe, 59th Course); Main I. Dauda (Jigawa, DSSC 38); Captain I. Bello (DSSC 43); and Captain A. Yusuf, Lieutenant S. Felix (DSSC). Additionally included had been Lieutenant Commander D.B. Abdullahi (Navy), Squadron Chief S. Adamu (Air Pressure).
