ABUJA — PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu on Monday mentioned he spoke by telephone with Anthony Joshua, the Nigerian-British former heavyweight boxing champion, following the tragic accident in Ogun State during which Joshua was injured and misplaced two of his associates.
The telephone dialog was made public by way of a press release issued by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.
The assertion quoted Tinubu as saying: “I spoke with AJ on the telephone to personally convey my condolences over the loss of life of his two associates. I needed him nicely and prayed for him. He assured me that he’s receiving the perfect care within the hospital.
“I additionally spoke with AJ’s mom and prayed for her. She was very appreciative of my name.
“Moreover, I spoke to Governor Dapo Abiodun, who was within the hospital with them. The Governor assured me that he’ll do every thing attainable to make sure AJ receives the absolute best consideration.”
Earlier, in a press release on X, President Tinubu, who’s at the moment overseas, expressed profound sympathy for the boxer over the accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
