    Benue is bleeding: Aida Nath Ogwuche writes Tinubu, demands urgent action on insecurity

    Amid rising insecurity in Benue State, famend authorized practitioner and justice advocate, Barrister Aida Nath Ogwuche, has written a passionate open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, calling for fast intervention to finish the continuing bloodshed ravaging communities throughout the state.

    Within the letter titled “Benue Is Bleeding,” Ogwuche expressed deep anguish over the unrelenting violent assaults, kidnappings, and killings, particularly in rural farming areas. She famous that these incidents have turned farmlands into graveyards and pushed 1000’s from their houses.

    Her plea follows a very devastating assault on Yelewata neighborhood in Guma Native Authorities Space, the place over 200 lives have been reportedly misplaced.

    Ogwuche warned that Benue, as soon as thought to be the “Meals Basket of the Nation,” is now changing into synonymous with violence and despair as a consequence of what she termed authorities inaction and rising lawlessness.

    In her phrases, “The latest wave of violent assaults, kidnappings, and bloodshed has plunged our folks into worry, crippling livelihoods and paralyzing the financial system of a state largely sustained by farming.”

    She urged the President to urgently:

    Deploy extra safety personnel to Benue State.

    Collaborate with neighboring states to tighten border safety.

    Improve intelligence gathering and neighborhood safety efforts.

    Handle the foundation causes of the violence with sustainable options.

    Declare a state of emergency in essentially the most affected areas.

    Ogwuche concluded with a passionate enchantment for the President to behave swiftly, stressing that “lives dangle within the steadiness” and that the folks of Benue should stay in peace and safety.

    Her letter has since stirred nationwide consideration, highlighting the worsening humanitarian disaster within the area and the rising requires proactive management on the federal stage.
