    Ballon d’Or 2025: History made for Nigeria – Super Falcons react to Chiamaka, Madugu’s nominations

    Tremendous Falcons, on Thursday, congratulated goalkeeper Nnadozie Chiamaka and head coach Justine Madugu after the duo have been nominated for awards by France Soccer, the organizers of the Ballon d’Or awards, forward of the 2025 version in Paris subsequent month.

    DAILY POST experiences that Chiamaka and Madugu have been the one Nigerians included within the nomination shortlists printed on Thursday.

    Chiamaka was nominated for the 2025 Girls’s Yachine Trophy.

    The 24-year-old Brighton star will battle the likes of Ann-Katrin Berger, Cata Coll, Hannah Hampton, and Daphne van Domselaar for the award.

    Madugu, in the meantime, was nominated for Girls’s Coach of the Yr after he led the Tremendous Falcons to their tenth Girls’s African Cup of Nations, WAFCON, in July.

    He’ll battle Sonia Bompastor, Arthur Elias, Renée Slegers and Sarina Wiegman for the award.

    Reacting, the Tremendous Falcons in a publish through their official X account, wrote:

    “She let her gloves do the speaking all season lengthy. Massive congratulations,
    @NadozieChiamaka.

    “Not simply on the pitch, we’re successful on the touchline too.

    “Congratulations to our head coach, Justin Madugu, on his Ballon d’Or nomination for Coach of the Yr

    “Historical past made for Nigeria.”
