The Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has lifted the suspension of Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar, restoring her eligibility to take part in guild actions and movie initiatives.
Abubakar had been beneath an indefinite suspension since October 2024, following allegations of defaming fellow actors and notable Nigerians.
A two-year investigation carried out by a guild-appointed panel concluded that she was culpable, resulting in her non permanent exclusion from all AGN applications.
The announcement was made by outgoing AGN Nationwide President, Emeka Rollas, through the inauguration of the guild’s new Nationwide Government Council, NEC, on Thursday on the AGN nationwide secretariat in Abuja.
The occasion drew actors from throughout the nation, alongside filmmakers and different stakeholders within the leisure trade.
Rollas, whose second and last time period resulted in December 2025, formally handed over management to Abubakar Yakubu.
