    AFCON 2025: Congo’s Ndala to officiate Morocco vs Comoros opener

    Congolese referee Jean-Jacques Ndala will take cost of the opening recreation of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, between hosts Morocco and Comoros.

    The event’s curtain-raiser will happen on the Stade Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat on Sunday night.

    The encounter will kick off at 7 pm native time.
    Ndala is among the continent’s most skilled and extremely regarded match officers.

    He can be officiating at his fourth AFCON, having beforehand served on the 2019, 2021 and 2023 editions.

    Ndala can be assisted by his compatriots Guylain Bongele Ngila (assistant referee one), Mwanya Gradel Mbilizi (assistant referee two), and Messie Nkounkou Mvoutou (fourth official).

    The Video Assistant Referee, VAR, group can be led by Mauritania’s Dahane Beida, whereas Babacar Sarr, additionally from Mauritania, will help Beida.

    Congo’s René Daniel Louzaya will function the referee’s assessor.
