    Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has expressed concern over rising insecurity within the state, attributing it to the spillover of felony components from Nigeria’s troubled Northeast and Northwest areas.

    Talking in Abuja on Friday following his go to to the Nationwide Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the governor warned that Kogi shouldn’t be seen as a refuge for fleeing armed teams.

    “Kogi State shouldn’t be a fertile land or a free vacation spot for criminals. We’re coping with them decisively. They’re listening to it — we don’t make noise,” Ododo declared.

    He identified that Kogi’s distinctive geographical location, sharing boundaries with ten different states together with the FCT, makes it susceptible to safety breaches, particularly from displaced bandits and terrorists retreating from navy operations in neighboring areas.

    “A state that borders this variety of states will certainly, whether or not you prefer it or not, expertise one type of insecurity or the opposite.
