    NCAA Empowers Airport Communities’ Youths With Aviation Skills

    The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has flagged off the implementation of the Federal Authorities’s Nationwide Youth Improvement Directive programme because it launched the Aviation Upskilling Improvement Programme (AUDP), accepted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in February 2025.

    The implementation of the AUDP follows the approval by Tinubu for a nationwide construction for youth empowerment throughout Ministries and Businesses.

    To key into this, the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Improvement has directed companies beneath its purview, together with the NCAA, to align their youth-related efforts with the nationwide framework.

     

    Talking throughout a programme on the NCAA Annexe in Lagos, its director basic, Captain Chris Najomo, mentioned over 100 youths have been chosen from communities round airports in Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Port Harcourt and Kano to take part in multidisciplinary sectors.

     

    Najomo mentioned the AUDP initiative will help the youths to know and navigate their means into the aviation sector.

     

    He mentioned: “However, as a deep and agency believer in the way forward for younger Nigerians. We’re right here to introduce a modest however vital initiative: the Aviation Upskilling Improvement Programme (AUDP).     Within the closing remarks, regional supervisor, South West, NCAA, Olubukola Aduragbemi Teriba mentioned: “ The NCAA is proud to host this empowerment Programme to align with the NCAA broader imaginative and prescient to construct an acceptable and globally aggressive aviation sector in Nigeria which is able to put together and equip the Nigerian youth with specialised technical information wanted to confidently step into the array of jobs obtainable inside the business thereby creating jobs alternatives, decreasing unemployment and enhancing Nigeria’s picture within the worldwide group.
