    C’River: Magistrates threaten Indefinite strike

    The Magistrates Affiliation of Nigeria (MAN), Cross River State Chapter, has threatened to embark on an indefinite strike over unresolved welfare and safety considerations.

    The risk was disclosed through the affiliation’s Normal Congress held on January 30, 2026, in Calabar.

    A communiqué issued after the congress and collectively signed by the state Chairman of MAN, Godwin Onah, and the Normal Secretary, Solomon Abuo, acknowledged that magistrates would resume an indefinite strike from Monday, February 9, 2026, if their excellent calls for should not addressed by the state authorities.

    The communiqué recalled that the affiliation had earlier resolved to start an indefinite strike following a communiqué issued on November 5, 2024, however suspended the motion after the non-public intervention of Governor Bassey Otu.
