    Founding father of the New Nigeria Peoples Celebration (NNPP), Dr Boniface Aniebonam, says Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State didn’t resign from the celebration however from the Kwankwasiya Motion, led by Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso.

    Aniebonam made the assertion on Saturday in a swift response to the governor’s resignation from the celebration, introduced within the media.

    Aniebonam, in an announcement, argued that the resignation letter from the governor was not addressed to the NNPP genuine Nationwide Working Committee (NWC) led by Dr Main Agbo, nor the state chairman or the ward secretary however to a member of the Kwankwasiya motion in Diso-Chiranchi Ward in Gwale Native Authorities Space of the state.

    “The NNPP NWC don’t recognise the Kwankwasiya motion ward chairman as chairman of the celebration,” he mentioned.

    Yusuf, in a letter addressed to the Chairman of Diso-Chiranchi Ward of the NNPP in Gwale Native Authorities Space, formally communicated his resolution to go away the celebration with impact from Friday, Jan. 23.

    “I write with a deep sense of gratitude to formally notify the management of the New Nigeria Individuals’s Celebration of my resolution to resign my membership of the celebration, with impact from Friday, twenty third January 2026,” the governor said.

    Aniebonam, nevertheless, said that the resignation of Yusuf and different political workplace holders of the celebration will not be identified to him as NNPP chief, founder and Chairman of its Board of Trustees.
