    Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has known as on the Nigerian Senate to urgently evaluate and amend the Electoral Act 2022, warning that loopholes within the regulation contributed to alleged irregularities in the course of the 2023 common elections.

    In an announcement posted on his Fb web page on Thursday, Atiku highlighted that the present authorized framework made it “practically inconceivable for petitioners to advance their instances within the courts,” creating circumstances that allowed for what he described as “brazen rigging” in 2023.

    He pressured that correcting these flaws is crucial to safeguard the credibility of the 2027 elections, urging lawmakers to make sure that any amendments are handed in time to control future polls.
