Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has mentioned the latest wave of defections from the Peoples Democratic Celebration, PDP, has vindicated former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the G-5 governors who have been beforehand labelled as traitors.

Talking throughout an interview on TVC, Fayose mentioned, “Many of the governors that jumped did so in their very own curiosity, what they felt would safe their future and their individuals. I wouldn’t blame them.”

He disclosed that he had earlier warned PDP leaders about looming challenges throughout the social gathering.

“When the roof began sinking, I got here out and spoke. I advised Sẹ́un Okinbaloye that the PDP would face a variety of challenges,” he acknowledged.

Fayose mentioned Wike was open about grievances throughout the social gathering, notably relating to agreements reached with the social gathering’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, which he claimed weren’t honoured.

“Governor Wike didn’t conceal something. He overtly mentioned that what Atiku agreed with them was not performed. He fought that trigger and he didn’t combat alone,” Fayose mentioned.

He added that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and different members of the G-5 alliance stood agency, noting that they engaged the president on a number of events.

In line with Fayose, though many Nigerians initially branded the G-5 governors as traitors, latest occasions have modified perceptions.

“Many individuals noticed the G-5 governors as traitors. However in case you sit again now, the presidential candidate of the PDP has left, the vice-presidential candidate has left, governors and senators have left,” he mentioned.

Fayose concluded that the mass defections present that Wike had foreseen the disaster sooner than others.

“Meaning Wike has been vindicated. What they by no means noticed, Wike noticed earlier on,” he mentioned.
