Food inflation has once more dropped in October 2025 to 13.12 per cent, down from 16.87 per cent in September, following the easing of costs for maize, garri, and beans.
Current information from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) revealed that softer meals costs led to a second consecutive month-on-month disinflation of 0.37 per cent, down from 1.57 per cent recorded in September.
Equally, headline inflation fee eased to the seventh consecutive month to 16.05 per cent within the interval relative to the September 2025 headline inflation fee of 18.02 per cent.
Analysts at Meristem and a number of other funding firms projected food inflation to ease additional within the close to time period, supported by the continuing harvest season and authorities meals safety interventions.
On a state stage, meals inflation was highest in Ogun State at 20.58 per cent, Nasarawa at 19.96 per cent and Ekiti at 19.70 per cent. Whereas Akwa Ibom, Katsina and Yobe recorded the bottom meals inflation within the interval with 3.98 per cent, 4.15 per cent and 4.29 per cent, respectively.
