Former Nigeria worldwide, Victor Ikpeba has hit out on Wilfred Ndidi following the Tremendous Eagles’ 4-3 penalty defeat to DR Congo within the 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff closing on Sunday.

Ikpeba famous that it was Ndidi that laid the ball on the platter for Mechak Elia to equalise for DR Congo regardless of having the chance to manage it or put it out for objective kick.

DAILY POST reported that the Tremendous Eagles took an early lead within the first half after Frank Onyeka’s shot was deflected in.

However DR Congo equalized by Elia because the match led to a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.

The Leopards managed a lot of the sport and beat Nigeria 4-3 on penalties because the likes of Calvin Bassey, Moses Simon and Semi Ajayi all missed their kicks.

“Wilfred Ndidi was truly the one which laid it on the platter for Mechak Elia. And that’s the factor we’re speaking about. That’s why some folks criticize him more often than not, for in all probability being gradual on choice making.

“Possibly something might have occurred. So if somebody like Benjamin Freddy was there, perhaps he would have managed that ball very nicely for himself and perhaps made the clearance and all of that. This stuff occur in soccer.”

By defeating Nigeria, DR Congo now clinches the ticket to signify Africa on the intercontinental playoffs going down in March 2026.

In the meantime, the Tremendous Eagles might redeem their picture and put smiles on the faces of Nigerians when the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, 2026 kicks off in Morocco.
