Sen. Gabriel Suswam, a two-time former Benue governor, stated he had no plans to decamp to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Suswam dispelled the rumours in a press release by his media aide, Mr Bede Bartholomew, on Friday, and made out there to newsmen in Makurdi.

The Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) reviews that Gov. Hyacinth Alia has invited stakeholders within the state to a state dinner, with on-line reviews suggesting that Suswam would decamp to the APC in the course of the occasion.

Bede stated that the previous Home of Representatives member was solely attending a state dinner organised by Gov. Hyacinth Alia of Benue.

He strongly denied insinuations that his principal was defecting to the APC.

“Moments in the past, I obtained phone calls from well-meaning Benuelites and leaders, alerting me to trending information on Benue’s social media house purporting that the previous governor of Benue, Sen. Suswam, has defected to the APC.

“Some even alleged that Suswam shall be obtained by Gov. Hyacinth Alia this night on the Banquet Corridor, Authorities Home, Makurdi.

“I debunk this unholy hearsay with all vehemence, because it doesn’t symbolize the present pursuits of Suswam or these of his supporters throughout the state.

“What I do know is that two days in the past, Alia respectfully prolonged an invite to Suswam, amongst different stakeholders, expressing his need to attend a state banquet slated for tenth October 2025.

“It ought to be famous that as a former governor of the state, Suswam is a stakeholder within the Benue challenge; thus, his purpose for accepting the invitation,” he stated.

He stated that there was no indication within the invitation letter that it was a political occasion or a decamping ceremony in any way.

“The previous governor advises his supporters and well-wishers to ignore this hearsay, as it’s baseless, aimless, and a lie from the deepest pit of hell,” he stated
