    FG commends Finnish court on Simon Ekpa’s terrorism conviction

    The Federal Authorities of Nigeria has welcomed the decision of the Päijät-Häme District Court docket in Finland, which sentenced Simon Ekpa to 6 years in jail for terrorism-related offences.

    Ekpa, a self-declared pro-Biafra activist, has been linked to inciting violence and unrest in southeastern Nigeria.

    In an announcement issued on Monday in Abuja, by Idris Mohammed, the Minister of Data and Nationwide Orientation described the ruling as a notable improvement within the world effort to deal with terrorism and political violence.

    “This verdict brings justice to many Nigerians affected by the violent acts inspired and supported by Ekpa and his associates. It additionally strengthens the connection between Nigeria and Finland,” Idris acknowledged.
