Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have foiled an armed theft try alongside the Sagamu–Benin Expressway, killing one suspect and rescuing passengers trapped within the assault.
The incident occurred when a Toyota Hiace bus with registration quantity ENU 371 XJ, pushed by one Mba Kingsley Chukwuemeka, was ambushed by a gang of about ten armed robbers at Imere Junction.
Spokesman for the Command mentioned a patrol group led by ASP Ayodele Ajao responded swiftly, partaking the hoodlums in a gun battle. One of many robbers was neutralised whereas others escaped with gunshot wounds.
The rescued passengers and the driving force had been taken to security, whereas the corpse of the deceased suspect was deposited on the Ijebu-Ode Basic Hospital morgue for post-mortem. The Command added that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

Additionally, two suspects, Adebayo Adeleke and Ibrahim Taiwo, had been arrested in Idiroko for allegedly stealing a police exhibit. The duo, reportedly caught eradicating a revolving mild from a Hilux car parked on the station, had been handed over by one Oyeyemi Omotayo.
Police disclosed that the suspects confessed to the crime throughout interrogation, whereas the exhibit was recovered. The case is at present beneath investigation.
