In response to the Abuja-Kaduna practice derailment at Jerre, the Minister of Transportation, Senator Stated Ahmed Alkali, has constituted a committee to analyze the incident and advocate everlasting options to reinforce rail security in Nigeria.

Expressing concern for the lives of passengers, the minister directed that the committee look at each the quick and underlying causes of the derailment, suggest measures to forestall related accidents, and determine methods to enhance the effectivity and security of the nation’s rail system.
The committee is chaired by Musa O. Ibrahim of the Division of Operations and Public Security in Transport, with members drawn from key authorities businesses, technical specialists, railway officers, representatives of the personal sector, civil society organisations, and passengers.

The minister emphasised that the committee’s mandate is to make sure a radical investigation and produce actionable suggestions to safeguard lives and restore public confidence in rail transportation.
