Forward of the 2027 basic election, the Progressive Group has mentioned it should gladly welcome Governor Peter Mbah into the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Chief of the group, and fast previous Chairman of APC within the state, Dr. Ben Nwoye mentioned they’d gladly welcome Governor Mbah of the Peoples Democrat Celebration, PDP, if he decides to hitch the ruling celebration.
Nwoye dismissed claims that Barr Ugocukwu Agballa and the minister of Innovation, Science and Know-how, Chief Uche Nnaji, might block Governor Mbah’s entry into the celebration.
In response to him, the Progressive Group is made up of members of APC in Enugu State, some apolitical people and members of different political events who’re progressive-minded and dedicated to the betterment of the nation and Enugu State specifically.
He mentioned the group was extremely disposed to welcoming Governor Mbah into the APC, stressing that Agballa and co would not have the powers to cease the governor from becoming a member of the celebration if he so wished.
Nwoye added that, “Agbala has been suspended by his ward, and a court docket order has barred him and 9 others from parading themselves as chairman and members of the APC
“The minister is equally not ready to talk for the APC; he’s only a member of the Federal Government Council, FEC,” Nwoye said.
Our Correspondent reviews that the group had through the assembly moved a movement for the adoption of President Tinubu and Governor Mbah as their sole candidates for the 2027 election.
One of many motions we handed was to obtain Governor Mbah into the APC if he decides to hitch and to assist his re-election bid in 2027.
Nwoye mentioned Enugu State had benefitted from the Tinubu-led federal authorities.
“The president has made impactful use of subsidy financial savings in Enugu State.
“He not too long ago permitted the Federal College of Agriculture for the state and earlier appointed an Enugu son as Chief of Naval Workers, permitted a naval base in Enugu State.
“So, we are going to reciprocate by supporting his re-election in 2027”. Nwoye declared.
On the governor, he mentioned: “We’re conscious of the hypothesis that Governor Mbah might be part of the APC, and opposite to rumours, neither Agbala nor Nnaji can cease him.”
The assembly was attended by chieftains of the APC from the 260 political wards of the state, in addition to different political stakeholders.
